I had a similar problem. What I'm guessing is that you have the original
object in one layer in Modeller, have wither cut it or copied it to another
layer, and modified the second layer. It seems that when pasting, the order
of the points gets scrambled, and morphing between two objects that should
morph smoothly gets all twisty and weird. The work-around is to go to the
layer with the original object, cut it, and then paste it right back again.
This puts the points in the same order as the other pasted object. Works
for me. It seemed that I read somewhere that that bug had been fixed, but
since I'm already in this habit, I've never checked to see if it's true.
